Establishment of the MUN Club

A Model United Nations club was established in the institute on 9th October 2007. Model United Nations or Model UN is a simulation of the United Nations that aims to educate participants about civics, effective communication, globalization and multilateral diplomacy. In Model UN, students take on roles as foreign diplomats and participate in a simulated session of an intergovernmental organization (IGO).

VJTI was the first engineering institute in the city to hold a Model United Nations competition. Ever since, the MUN has spread to institutes throughout the city and has now become a primary event in most established social festivals to be held in the city.

The MUN club was set up by a group of students under the Debate and Literary Arts (DLA) group. It aims to aid students in improving their research, deliberative, oratory, consultative and literary skills.
